**Responsibilities**
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate NICU Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at St. Bernardine Medical Center. Through advanced education and clinical practice, this role will serve as an agent of change and professional growth in a specialized clinical area, enhancing the quality of patient and family health care. The NICU Clinical Nurse Specialist will embody the multiple roles of expert clinician, consultant, educator, researcher, and leader, all while actively participating in fulfilling the mission and core values of St. Bernardine Medical Center.
In this role, you will collaborate with the leadership team to oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical nursing care provided to NICU patients. You will coordinate competency-based orientation and ongoing staff development for the unit, supervising, teaching, coaching, supporting, and evaluating patient care personnel. Your responsibilities will also include assisting in establishing department goals, strategic plans, and outcome measures, as well as developing and facilitating educational programs based on identified needs.
You will be instrumental in promoting continuity of care by working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary patient care team, patients, and their families to improve care outcomes and maximize resource utilization. As a clinical expert and role model, you will introduce new ideas, products, and systems to improve patient care and organizational efficiency, facilitate education for staff, patients, and the community, and apply current research findings to address clinical issues and improve care standards.

**Qualifications**
+ Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience, with at least one (1) year in a facility with a NICU equivalent to a Regional, Community, or Intermediate CCS NICU.
+ Master’s and/or Doctoral degree in Nursing.
+ California Registered Nurse License.
+ Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) licensed by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
+ Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing Certification from a nationally recognized accrediting organization.
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
+ Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor Certification.
**Pay Range**
$48.96 - $74.06 /hour
