This four-week hybrid course provides essential skills in fiber optics, combining flexible, self-paced online learning with weekly hands-on labs. Aligned with Fiber Optic Association standards, it’s perfect for those facing challenges accessing traditional education. This course offers expert-led instruction and hands-on experience. Graduates receive guaranteed interview opportunities with leading industry employers, paving the way for a new career as a fiber optic technician. Fiber optic technicians are in high demand, with career opportunities in various industries such as telecommunications, networking, and data centers. Entry-level salaries for fiber optic technicians range from $40,000 to $60,000 per year. With experience and additional certifications, fiber optic technicians can earn $100k per year or more. Additionally, these positions often come with great benefits. The course opens on Monday, July 8th, and closes on Friday, August 2nd. Mandatory in-person lab sessions are every Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Downtown Mesa Library (64 E 1st St, Mesa, AZ 85201). The remainder of the coursework is flexible, self-paced online learning, with access to office hours for 1:1 mentoring. You only need access to the internet.
