As a General Counsel - Intellectual Property here at Honeywell, you will have a significant impact on the company's intellectual property strategy and protection. Your legal expertise and guidance will directly influence the strength and value of Honeywell's intellectual assets. By providing legal counsel and guidance on IP matters, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that Honeywell's IP rights are protected and enforced. Your advice will help the business units and senior management make informed decisions regarding patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
You will report directly to the Honeywell Aerospace Technologies Chief Intellectual Property Counsel and you’ll work out of one of our Phoenix, Arizona locations.
In this role, you will impact the company by:
+ Providing legal counsel and guidance with respect to all aspects of intellectual property (IP) matters to Honeywell's business units and senior management, including the impact of IP on product and market strategy.
+ Managing and overseeing the protection and enforcement of Honeywell's IP rights, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, including invention mining and evaluation.
+ Performing freedom to market and product clearance reviews.
+ Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating the IP terms of agreements, including customer agreements, licensing agreements, technology transfer agreements, supplier agreements, and joint development agreements.
+ Conducting IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
+ Becoming a business partner by providing proactive advice and recommendations to align strategy, mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
+ Managing and overseeing the work of external counsel.
+ Respond to and resolve IP matters, including overseeing litigation and dispute resolution.
+ Driving IP monetization efforts.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
YOU MUST HAVE
+ 7+ years of legal experience involving intellectual property legal matters, including experience with preparing and prosecuting patent applications (preferably at least 2 of the 7+ years involve preparation and prosecution of patent applications).
+ 3+ years negotiating or advising on U.S. Government procurement provisions (e.g., FAR, DFAR, NASA FAR Supplement) including making and supporting commerciality determinations.
+ Law degree from an accredited law school and admission to at least one US state bar, with the ability to register as in-house counsel in Arizona or be admitted as an Arizona attorney.
+ Registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark office as a patent attorney.
+ Experience with directing prosecution of patent applications in EP preferred.
+ Strong knowledge of patent and trademark laws and regulations.
