No two days in emergency nursing are ever the same. You’re a multitasker who can react quickly as you’ll prioritize patients based on their medical necessity while you’re providing emergency triage to others. As part of our ER team you’ll partner with an experienced clinical team to deliver stabilizing care to our patients by performing IV starts foley catheter insertions or aiding providers with chest tube insertions.

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Emergency Services, the Emergency Department Program Manager provides clinical, educational, and performance improvement leadership for emergency department staff. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and functions as a leader, practitioner, educator, consultant, and researcher.
The Program Manager collaborates with clinical managers, directors, providers, and other program managers to drive unit-specific plans and operations. The manager ensures that the unit meets TJC, CMS, CDPH, and EMSA requirements, adheres to National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs), nursing- sensitive outcomes, and fosters a culture of safety while achieving positive patient outcomes.
This role will be vital in overseeing staff education, competency development, and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. By dedicating a focused resource to education and program management, we can enhance staff readiness, improve patient outcomes, and ensure compliance with the latest standards of care. This position will serve as a key driver of quality and operational excellence within our department.

**Responsibilities**
+ Coordinates and facilitates quality patient care across the continuum for all patient populations requiring emergencytreatment.
+ Collaborates with other members of the leadership and interdisciplinary teams to oversee the planning, implementationand evaluation of clinical care provided to patients ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
+ Facilitates the professional development of nursing staff by improving clinical and theoretical education and knowledgeacross various specialties. Incorporates Evidence Based Practice (EBP) into clinical, education, and consultative roles toprovide a scientific basis for professional nursing practice
+ Supervises, teaches, coaches, supports and evaluates patient care personnel in collaboration with other members of theleadership team. Participates in establishing ongoing corrective action plans and monitoring progress of patient care staffwith competency issues.
+ Participates actively in survey processes conducted by internal and external agencies ensuring compliance with relevantregulatory and accreditation standards.
+ Provides expertise in specialty areas to address educational, clinical, and system issues in order to promote qualitypatient care. Serves as a consultant to nursing and non-nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare providers.
+ Leads/serves as a member of clinical project and quality improvement work teams to enhance departments and hospitaloperations.
+ Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary patient care team, the patient, and the patient's family/Care Partners toimprove patient care outcomes. Participates in interdisciplinary patient care rounds.
+ Assists leadership team in establishing annual goals, strategic plans, and outcome measures.
+ Works with ED leaders to oversee the development of clinical policies, procedures, protocols, and performancestandards.
+ Serves as a change agent; uses principles of change, the chain of command and appropriate communication channels toeffect positive patient care and service outcomes.
+ Works with other project managers and managers to plan and/or provide educational opportunities for patients, familiesand the community at large.
+ Serves as a clinical expert/role model for all members of the healthcare team. Promotes the practical use of scientificdata and principles.
+ Establishes and maintains positive interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, hospital personnel, and thecommunity.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
**Qualifications**
+ Registered Nurse with current California License required.
+ 3-5 years of recent clinical nursing experience in an emergency department with a preference for trauma setting.
+ 1-3 years of clinical educator or nursing leadership role.
+ Strong experience in quality improvement initiatives.
+ Baccalaureate degree required.
+ NLN-Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) preferred
+ AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
+ LA City Fire Safety Card required within 90 days of hire.
+ BCEN-CEN/TCRN (Certification in emergency practice/trauma nursing is required within one year of hire).
**Pay Range**
$40.58 - $58.84 /hour
