The Patient Care Tech (BHT) will work as part of the clinical team dedicated to behavioral health and substance use. As Patient Care Tech, you will coordinate services with the goal to provide experience, strength, and hope to individuals, their families, and significant others.

Responsibilities
• Obtains vital signs, performs urine drug screening, obtains blood glucose levels and other medical care duties as delegated by the RN.
• Orient patients to treatment setting and assists with activities of daily living as needed.
• Participates in implementation of the patient plan of care.
• Completes rounds and monitors patient activities, physical and mental status, and reports patient status to nursing staff.
• Performs bathroom monitoring, bed checks, and special monitoring as directed by the RN or RN Supervisor.
• Checks patient belongings for contraband to ensure safety for the person while in treatment at CBI.
• Documents observations, interventions, and group activities in the patient medical record while maintaining confidentiality of all health information.
• Assists in maintaining a safe, orderly & therapeutic environment.
• Recognizes patients who are behaving aggressively, acting as a danger to themselves or others, or are in a crisis or medical emergency, and communicates this information in real time to the RN.
Requirements
• Highschool diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months of Health Care related experience where his/her prior experience would provide adequate exposure to both behavioral and medical crisis situations. In lieu of 6 months, education and/or experience may be considered.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
