Our Miami smelter and rod plant is nestled just 90 miles east of Phoenix. The smelter processes copper concentrate primarily from our company’s Arizona copper mines and is the most significant source of sulphuric acid for our North American leaching operations. **Description**
Create, review, update and deliver competency based learning and assessment to a culturally diverse range of learners in on and off job situations. Contribute as a recognized technical expert member of a larger team of educational professionals, at all times demonstrating those behaviors that fully support technical training values, policies and procedures.
+ Deliver/facilitate on and off the job Competency Based Development in field of expertise in order to meet customer development needs and quality standards
+ Create competency based learning materials so that learning programs delivered achieve their intended learning outcomes
+ Create competency based assessment tools, conduct on and off the job competency assessments in field of expertise in order to ensure assessment standards are met
+ Develop and communicate learning program schedules, implement schedules to ensure that programs are delivered as planned and meet customer requirements
+ Accurately record and report participant learning and assessment results so that participant records are consistently kept up-to-date and recorded in the Company Learning Management System
+ Respond to customer learning and development, provide appropriate technical support and advice in order to assist technical training meet /exceed customer expectations
+ Develop the technical and instructional of Instructors and Assistant Instructors so that they are able to effectively deliver and assess competency based learning programs
+ Provide a competent technical support service to customers in order to assist customers to fault find and diagnose challenging technical problems that occur with equipment and systems
+ Coordinate competency based learning projects so that these projects are completed on time and within budget
+ Perform other duties as required
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree **and** five (5) years of directly related experience in the appropriate trade and/or as a Technical Instructor for that trade and recognized as an expert in the appropriate technical field; **OR**
+ Ten (10) years of directly related experience in the appropriate trade
+ Knowledge of the principles and application of competency based learning so that development programs delivered and assessed meet CBD standards
+ Skill in applying professionally accepted principles of adult learning so that learners are given maximum opportunity to develop job competence
+ Skill in analytical thinking
+ Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written
+ Skill in the delivery and assessment of competency based learning programs
+ Demonstrate behaviors that match technical training values, follow and apply Freeport-McMoRan policies and procedures in order to be a role model for development program participants
**Preferred**
+ 10 Years of Industrial Electrical/Instrumentation experience
+ Instruction/Training experience
+ Applicable license(s) and/or certification(s)
**Criteria/Conditions**
+ Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
+ Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
+ Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
+ Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
+ Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

**What We Offer You**
The estimated pay range for this role is currently **$39.50 - $54.50/hour.** This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
